How to sell
Everything you need to list, sell, and get paid on BitBid
From creating your first listing through live auctions, shipping, and payouts, this guide explains how selling on BitBid works, step by step.
First bid starts the countdown — scheduled to end next day at 9:00 PM local
BitBid is a live auction marketplace. You list items with a starting bid, buyers compete in real time, and the highest bidder when the countdown reaches zero wins your item.
- You set the starting bid when you publish a listing.
- The auction clock does not start until someone places the first bid.
- While live, each new bid must beat the current high bid.
- When time runs out, the highest bidder wins and proceeds to checkout.
You ship after the buyer pays, and your earnings are credited to your BitBid wallet after delivery is confirmed. For a buyer-focused view of auction mechanics, see How Bidding Works.
BitBid enforces a few requirements so listings stay trustworthy and payouts can reach you.
- Sign in: you need a BitBid account to create listings.
- Verify your email: unverified accounts cannot publish listings.
- Register seller payouts: complete iyzico sub-merchant registration in Account Settings under Seller payouts before you expect to receive funds from card payments.
Set up payouts early
Register your seller payout account at /account/settings#seller-payouts before your first sale completes. You will need your IBAN, contact details, and identity information for iyzico sub-merchant onboarding.
Start at /listings/new. BitBid creates a draft automatically and saves your work as you go.
- Open Create listing and sign in if prompted.
- Add photos — they upload as you attach them.
- Fill in title, description, category, and starting bid.
- Review your draft and publish when ready.
- At least one photo is required before you can publish.
- Drafts autosave while you work.
- You can keep up to 20 active drafts at a time.
- Resume a draft from Account → My Listings → Drafts.
Strong listings attract more bids. Be accurate and complete — buyers rely on your photos and description.
- Title: clear and specific (brand, model, condition).
- Description: honest condition notes, included accessories, and any flaws.
- Condition: pick the grade that matches the item (Brand New through For Parts).
- Ships from: choose your city so buyers know where the item ships from.
- Handling time: how quickly you will ship after payment.
- Category: pick the best fit so buyers can discover your item.
- Starting bid: set a realistic floor — it becomes the opening price and the minimum first bid.
- Photos: use good lighting, show all angles, and highlight wear or damage.
Edits lock after the first bid
You can edit or delete a listing freely while it is published but waiting for the first bid. Once someone bids, title, price, photos, and description lock. Plan your listing carefully before bidding starts.
Publishing moves your draft to ACTIVE. Your listing appears in browse and search, but there is no countdown yet.
- Status shows as waiting for first bid.
- No end time is displayed — the community decides when the auction truly goes live.
- You can still edit or delete the listing until the first bid lands.
- Monitor waiting listings from Account → My Listings.
The first bid transforms your listing from published to live. From that moment, buyers compete on a real countdown.
- The listing switches from waiting for first bid to live.
- The auction is scheduled to end on the next calendar day at 9:00 PM in your local timezone.
- Each new bid must be at least one unit higher than the current high bid.
- In the last 10 seconds, any new bid resets the countdown to 10 seconds again (anti-sniping).
Example
You publish on Monday. A buyer places the first bid at 2:00 PM (local time). The auction is scheduled to end Tuesday at 9:00 PM (local time). Everyone sees the same countdown on the listing page.
For full details on anti-sniping and auction states, see the How Bidding Works guide at /how-bidding-works.
Once bidding starts, your listing enters a locked state. Focus on monitoring — not editing.
- Title, starting bid, photos, and description cannot be changed after the first bid.
- You cannot delete a listing that has received bids.
- You cannot bid on your own listing.
- Watch live bid updates on the listing page or from Account → My Listings.
- You may receive notifications when your item sells or when transaction updates occur.
When the countdown reaches zero, the highest bidder wins. Your listing moves to a sold state visible to everyone.
- You receive an in-app notification that your item sold.
- The buyer has 24 hours from auction end to complete checkout on the listing page.
- Checkout supports secure card payment through iyzico (3D Secure), wallet balance, or a combination of both.
- Do not ship until payment is confirmed — fulfillment starts after the buyer pays.
After payment is confirmed, you and the buyer work through the transaction hub at /orders/[orderId]/transaction. This is where shipping and delivery happen.
- Message the buyer in the order thread if you need clarification.
- Ship the item within three days of payment authorization.
- Add carrier and tracking information in the transaction hub.
- The buyer confirms delivery when the item arrives.
- Both parties can leave reviews. Reviews are blind until both submit.
Tracking is required
You can add tracking only after payment is confirmed. Enter the carrier name and tracking number in the transaction hub — the buyer is notified automatically.
BitBid charges a tiered platform commission based on the final sale price. You receive the sale amount minus the platform fee.
| Sale price | Platform fee |
|---|---|
| ₺100 – ₺500 | 15% |
| ₺501 – ₺1,500 | 10% |
| ₺1,501 – ₺10,000 | 4% |
| Above ₺10,000 | ₺900 flat |
Minimum order amount for fee calculation is ₺100. After delivery is confirmed and transaction completion rules are met, sale proceeds credit your BitBid wallet. Withdraw funds from your wallet once your iyzico sub-merchant account is registered.
See Pricing & Fees at /pricing-fees for the full commission schedule, worked examples, and payout details.
Winners must complete checkout within 24 hours of auction end. If payment is not received in time, the order may expire.
- You are notified when payment expires.
- Depending on the situation, you may be able to offer the item to the runner-up bidder.
- The runner-up receives a new 24-hour payment window if you extend the offer.
- Do not ship until a buyer has completed payment on an active order.
- Register seller payouts before your first sale — do not wait until funds are due.
- Use clear, well-lit photos from multiple angles.
- Set a realistic starting bid that reflects your item's value.
- Write honest descriptions — surprises after delivery lead to disputes and bad reviews.
- Respond promptly in the transaction message thread.
- Ship within three days and add tracking as soon as the carrier accepts the package.
- Review the How Bidding Works guide so you understand what buyers experience during live auctions.
Do I need an account to sell on BitBid?
Yes. Sign up, log in, and verify your email address. Unverified accounts cannot create or publish listings.
How do I create a listing?
Go to /listings/new. BitBid creates a draft automatically, uploads photos as you add them, and autosaves your work. Publish when title, description, category, starting bid, and at least one photo are complete.
When does the auction timer start?
The countdown starts when the first bid is accepted on your listing. Before that, the item is published but not yet on a live clock.
Can I edit my listing after someone bids?
No. Title, starting bid, photos, and description lock after the first bid. You also cannot delete a listing that has received bids.
Can I bid on my own listing?
No. Sellers cannot bid on listings they own. The platform blocks self-bids.
How long does the buyer have to pay?
The winning buyer has 24 hours from auction end to complete checkout on the listing page.
When should I ship?
Ship within three days of payment authorization. Add carrier and tracking information in the transaction hub after payment is confirmed.
How do I get paid?
Register your iyzico sub-merchant account in Account Settings under Seller payouts. After delivery is confirmed and transaction completion rules are met, sale proceeds (minus the platform fee) credit your BitBid wallet.
What are BitBid platform fees?
BitBid uses a tiered commission: 15% on sales up to ₺500, 10% on ₺501–₺1,500, 4% on ₺1,501–₺10,000, and a flat ₺900 fee above ₺10,000. Minimum order amount for fee calculation is ₺100.
What if the winner does not pay?
If the 24-hour payment window expires, the order may move to a payment-expired state. You may be able to offer the item to the runner-up bidder, who then receives a new payment window.
